Counselor In Training
Job Description: Responsibilities o Responsible for the health, personal care needs safety and general welfare of all campers within their cabin group o Assist individuals with physical disabilities or other limitations that need support with eating meals, walking, transferring and using the bathroom o Assist in planning and implementing daily activities with program area leaders and co workers to meet the needs and interests of in assigned cabin o Participate with campers and encourage them to participate in all activities while encouraging positive reinforcement o Responsible to the health care staff and administrative staff for notification of sickness or injury and assist with treatments needed o Record specific information as requested by administrative or Health Care staff o Assist campers in caring for personal belongings o Assist in the writing of reports pertaining to campers health and well being o Ensure health and safety guidelines, policies and procedures are adhered to o To perform any miscellaneous duties as requested by administrative staff
Qualifications: Requirements 1. The Counselor in Training (CIT) should be a minor, at least 16 years of age, and have had a successful volunteer experience within a camp setting – or a considerable amount of experience serving the population we serve. 2. The CIT must be physically and emotionally strong, mentally alert, creative, flexible and able to lift at least 40 lbs 3. CIT’s must be motivated to work in a residential camping environment
