SLC Board Approves New Music Education and Performance Center

On Saturday, January 21, 2012, the Silver Lake College of the Holy Family Board of Directors met and approved the construction of a new 35,000 square foot Music Education and Performance Center. This state-of-the-art facility will provide practice and performance space for the Silver Lake College Music Program and the Manitowoc Conservatory of Music and includes a performance auditorium, recital hall, classrooms, practice studios and social gathering space. The facility will also be available for public performances and events.

“This is a significant step in the progress of our Campus Master Plan.” stated Dr. George Arnold, President of Silver Lake College of the Holy Family. “This building will provide an exceptionally vibrant space for students, faculty and members of the local community.”

The Music Education and Performance Center is part of the College’s long-term Master Plan to include on-campus housing, a recreation/athletic/wellness complex and renovation of the College’s existing facilities. Groundbreaking for this new facility is expected to take place in summer 2012 with building completion by summer 2013.
