Silver Lake College Student Service Trip Fundraiser November 26, 4-7 PM at Pizza Ranch
Silver Lake College of the Holy Family invites members of the Manitowoc community to enjoy a meal and support one of our community outreach programs. On Monday, November 26th from 4:00-7:00 pm Pizza Ranch of Manitowoc will host the Silver Lake College Alternative Spring Break group for “Tip Night.” The participating students will be working in shifts to help bus tables and will chat with patrons about their upcoming service trip to Joplin, Missouri in March during their Spring Break. All tips collected that night will help make their trip possible. Additionally Pizza Ranch has pledged at least 10% of the profit from that night to the group.
20 students from Silver Lake College with 10 mentors from the College staff and faculty, plus volunteers from Grace UCC Church in Two Rivers, will travel to Joplin, Missouri, spending their spring break serving others. They will help rebuild homes destroyed by a devastating tornado that struck the town on May 22, 2011, killing 116 of its residents. If you have questions, or cannot attend and would like the support the group, please contact Tommy Nelson, Director of Campus Ministry for Silver Lake College, at 920-686-6281.
