Silver Lake College of the Holy Family Named Military Friendly School

Posted on September 15 2011

A magazine for military personnel transitioning into civilian life has named Silver Lake College of the Holy Family to its 2012 list of Military Friendly Schools. G.I. Jobs magazine annually honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans. Honored institutions have a history of prioritizing the recruitment of students with military experience, offering scholarships and military credit, sponsoring veterans clubs, and devoting staff members to the needs of student veterans.

The list is compiled after extensive research and a survey of more than 8,000 schools nationwide. For the first time this year, the magazine incorporated a survey of current student veterans who provided feedback on their individual institutions.

Michael Dakduk, executive director for the Student Veterans of America, says the list “is the go-to resource for prospective student veterans searching for schools that provide the right overall experience”.

Silver Lake College will be highlighted in the annual “Guide to Military Friendly Schools” and on a poster, both of which will be distributed to hundreds of thousands of active and former military personnel in early October.
