Silver Lake College Presents Jelinek Art Exhibit Through September 20th

Silver Lake College of the Holy Family is delighted to present selected works of artist Kelly Jelinek in the College Cafeteria Gallery, 2406 South Alverno Road, Manitowoc, through September 20th.  Jelinek creates sculptures and 2-D mixed media pieces inspired by folktales and religious myths. The exhibit is free and open to the public Monday through Friday 8 am-5 pm, Friday and Saturday 8 am-4:30 pm. For more information please visit www.SL.edu/ArtExhibits. Silver Lake College Expands Internship Program Through Great Lakes Grant

Silver Lake College of the Holy Family has been awarded a $150,000 Career Ready Internship Initiative grant from Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation (Great Lakes) for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Silver Lake College Graduate Business Director Co-Authors Best-Selling Book, The Ultimate Success Guide

Alonzo Kelly, Director of Graduate Business for Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, in a recent collaboration with business development expert and best-selling author Brian Tracy, co-wrote the book, The Ultimate Success Guide: The World’s Leading Experts Reveal Their Secrets for Success in Business and in Life. The book was released on May 30, 2013 by CelebrityPress, a leading business book publisher, and quickly reached best-seller status in five Amazon.com categories – reaching as high as #2 in the Direct Marketing category. The book also reached best-seller status in the Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Marketing and Sales, and ‘Small Business and Entrepreneurship’ categories.

Silver Lake College Awards Largest Number of Graduate Kodály Certificates in Program History

Silver Lake College of the Holy Family recently celebrated its 40th year of Kodály Summer Music Programs, with students participating in a three-week intensive program each of the last forty summers. Music educators from across the country as well as international students come to Silver Lake College seeking either a graduate Certificate in the Kodály method, or a Master of Music Degree with emphasis in the Kodály method, or taking courses for professional development. On July 3rd, fifteen Kodály Certificates were awarded to students who completed the required eighteen graduate credits, the largest graduating class in program history. July 2013 graduates were Amie Beeman of Odenton, Maryland; Audrie Burk of Naperville, Illinois; Rebeckah Cavanaugh of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; Cheryl Coisman of New Franken, Wisconsin; Naomi Fritz of Watertown, Wisconsin; Melanie Gritters of Lakewood, New York; Gail Grundstrom of Jamestown, New York; Amy Kilpatrick of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Robert Kramer of Greenville, Wisconsin; Len Langrick of Baltimore, Maryland; Kari Longmire of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Amy Redeker of Waupun, Wisconsin; Carol Swinchoski of West Belmar, New Jersey; Sister Martina VanVu of Houston, Texas; and Jennifer Zimmerman of Dubuque, Iowa.
