R.T. "Skip" Wallen Art Exhibit through September 19

Posted by on 28 August 2012

The Mariner’s Trail linking Manitowoc and Two Rivers is the proposed site of a new sculpture by Manitowoc native and internationally recognized artist, R.T. “Skip” Wallen. Titled “The Spirit of the Rivers,” Wallen’s current work is slated for completion in 2014. When finished, it will be located at the convergence of Forget-Me-Not Creek and Lake Michigan located along the five mile scenic trail. The bronze sculpture will feature three 10 foot tall American Indian figures, two males and one female, with a tribal elder leading the way. Wallen’s vision is to communicate the link between our past and the responsibilities of our future. In honor of Wallen’s work, Silver Lake College of the Holy Family is proud to present an exhibit with photographs of his sculptures and maquettes, and the conceptual drawings for The Spirit of the River.
