Bishop Morneau to Lead First Zimmer Forum Literary Discussion

Silver Lake College of the Holy Family proudly presents the 2012-13 Father Bill Zimmer Forum sponsored by St. Francis of Assisi Parish and Silver Lake College.  All book discussions are open to the public at no cost and will be held at the Silver Lake College of the Holy Family Chapel, 2406 S. Alverno Road, Manitowoc, WI 54220 at 12:15 p.m.  Participants are encouraged to read the book prior to attending but this is not required.  The series will begin September 11, 2012 with a discussion led by The Most Reverend Robert F. Morneau, Auxiliary Bishop of the Green Bay Diocese.

Born in New London, Bishop Morneau studied at St. Norbert College and Sacred Heart Seminary and then earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Bishop Morneau was ordained to the priesthood in 1966 and in 1979 became one of the first American priests to be named a bishop by Pope John Paul II. A well-known author and poet, Bishop Morneau has published eight books and numerous essays.

On September 11, Bishop Morneau will lead a discussion about The Complete Poetry of Robert Frost, annotated by Frost scholar Edward Lathem. The collection contains over 350 poems from eleven books of verse written by the four-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author.
