Artist Music Series Concert Featuring The Bells Of The Lakes On Feb. 9 At 3 pm

Silver Lake College of the Holy Family is thrilled to present The Bells of the Lakes, the third of seven Artist Music Series Concerts for the 2013-2014 season, on Sunday, February 9 at 3 pm in the Bob and Pat Endries Hall in the new Franciscan Music Center at Silver Lake College, 2406 South Alverno Road, Manitowoc.

The Bells of the Lakes is a handbell ensemble from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. It is comprised of 13 community members and is under the direction of William H. Mathis, a nationally known conductor and arranger of handbell and choral music. Formed in 1996, the Bells of the Lakes was named to reflect the area around them that has been known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The Bells of the Lakes often travels all around the midwest, performing in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and North and South Dakota. In addition to performing locally, this accomplished group of musicians has performed in Birmingham, England at the International Symposium of English Handbell Ringers and as a featured ensemble at Pinnacle, a handbell symposium in Orlando, Florida. The group has also recorded four CDs: “Hymns”, “Bells of the Lakes”, “Ring the Bells of Christmas”, and the “10 Year Anniversary CD”.

Single concert tickets are $17 for general admission, $12 for students and seniors (65+). All concerts are presented in the new Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance at Silver Lake College.
