About the Choir

The Silver Lake Concert Choir was founded in 1971 and is recognized for its commitment to performing the highest quality repertoire. The choir has also appeared with some of the community’s finest instrumental and vocal artists. The choir consists of students, alumni, and community members who are committed to sharing their collective voice with the community. The choir performs two concerts each semester, and rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance. About the Conductor

Damon J. Carlson, conductor, is currently in his sixth year as a member of the music faculty at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family where he conducts the Silver Lake Concert Choir and the Silver Lake Chorale, and has been Chair of the Fine Arts Department since 2010. Carlson holds a Master’s Degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. Prior to joining Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, Carlson taught middle school and high school choral music in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He co-founded the Silver Lake Children’s Choir in 2012 with music director, Carol Storck.  In addition to his teaching and conducting duties at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, Carlson maintains a private voice studio and enjoys choral arranging.

Community Singers Welcome

Please, come share your voice! The Silver Lake Concert Choir is currently welcoming singers to join the Silver Lake Concert Choir. Please consider this opportunity to contribute your talents and voice! Rehearsals are held on Mondays from 7 – 9 p.m. at our campus in Manitowoc beginning January 14, 2013. Membership in the choir is free of charge and all music will be provided. Please complete the registration form below.
