Silver Lake College Cross Country Competes at Nationals
The Silver Lake College of the Holy Family Cross Country team competed Friday, November 8th at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Cross Country National Championships in Syracuse, New York. The event was hosted by the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF). The competition included runners from colleges and universities from across the country.
The Women’s event was a 6K race that featured 146 runners competing. The Lady Lakers were led by Mary Bettag’s 29th place finish with a time of 26:40. Taylor Vanden Plas finished 55th (28:15) and Sophia Chin placed 110th (32:14).
The Men’s 8K event included 183 runners participating. The Lakers were represented by BJ Ropel, who finished in 79th place (32:01).
