Laker Trio Set Personal Record Times at the Concordia Invitational

The Silver Lake College of the Holy Family Cross Country team competed at Concordia University Wisconsin’s Concordia Invitational on Saturday, September 14th. Teams competing at the Invitational were from the NCAA Division I and III levels.

In the Women’s 6K event, the Lady Lakers were led by a trio of team members who set personal record times at the 6K distance.  Setting personal records were Taylor Vanden Plas (57th place, 26:02), Mary Bettag (66th place, 26:21) and Sophia Chin (140th place, 30:55).  Additional competitors included Lucy-Ann Muabe (167th place, 35:37), Johniece Gilliam (174th place, 37:12), Sarah Craw (175th place, 37:20) and Olivia Johnston (179th place, 39:02).  The Lady Lakers finished 18th out of 19 teams.

In the Men’s 8k event, BJ Ropel placed 55th (28:28) and Austin Allen-Walker finished 152nd (34:00).
