Laker's Defeat a Tough Judson University Men's Team
The Laker’s men’s team went on the road Tuesday night and defeated Judson University from the very strong Chicagoland [sic]Collegiate Athletic Conference by the score of 93 – 86. The Lakers were led in scoring by Milwaukee native Javaughn Freeman with 32 points. He entered the game at the 15:00 mark of the first half and hit his first 7 shots from the floor. Anthony Parker of Gainesville, Florida had 18 points and John Duke from Milwaukee contributed 17 to round out the Lakers who scored in double figures. Derek Domino of Parkland, Florida had 6 points to go with his 12 assists and 10 rebounds. Andrew Eck led the Judson Eagles with 19 points and Scott Nelson added 17.
This was a great win for the program and the college as a whole. The entire team contributed to the victory. In addition to the above scorers, Kyle Lundberg of Delray Beach, Florida added 7 points, Darius Barnes of Milwaukee added 9 points and Austin Walker also of Milwaukee had 1 point. The Lakers also received great non scoring play from Carl Jean from Pompano Beach, Florida, Wesley Dowell of Ekron, Kentucky, Dru Harris of Appleton, Wisconsin, Raul Neri of El Paso, Texas.
The Lakers are 2-1 and travel Wednesday to the Bradley Center to take on Calumet College of St. Joseph from the Crossroads Conference. The tip is 3:00 pm. The Lakers next men’s next home game is Friday night immediately following the Lady Laker’s game when the varsity reserve team takes on Fox Valley Tech. The next varsity home game is this Saturday at 3:00 pm against a very strong St Xavier University team from Chicago. The Laker’s Varsity Reserve team will play prior to the varsity contest at 1:00 pm.
